Ear Reshaping Cosmetic Surgery (Otoplasty)
The Otoplasty also know as ear surgery is cosmetic
surgery to make protruding ears less prominent by making the
ears lie closer to the head, or reducing the size of large

between the age of 6 and 15 years old. Prominent ears my

keep the ears in their new position as they heal. There may

and this can be relieved by mild pain medication. There is
usually no need to stay overnight at the cosmetic surgery
clinic after Otoplasty, ear surgery, but of course if you
wish to stay at the cosmetic surgery clinic, this can be
arranged.
The stitches after Otoplasty, ear surgery are usually
removed between 7 to 10 days after surgery, by the plastic
surgeon at the cosmetic surgery clinic. After the removal of
the bandage, it is important to refrain from scratching the
ear, so as not to introduce infection. It is also necessary
to wrap the ears at night in a bandage to protect them, for
a month after surgery. Any activities that might disturb the
ear should be avoided for at least 6 weeks. It is important
for patients to follow the plastic surgeons, after
instructions following ear surgery.
Most patients after Otoplasty ear surgery are very happy
with the result, and find a new self confidence as they are
not self conscious about protruding ears.
